Welcome to the Fort Collins Triathlon/Duathlon! This great first timers and seasoned athletes event takes place on a safe, flat and fast course. Semi-annual events makes for a great measure of fitness change over the course of the summer. Parking

Please park at the Fort Collins Club race morning for the road to
EPIC will be closed for the duration of the race. PLEASE BE EARLY.

Transition Area

The transition area opens at 6:00am.

Packet Pick up

Packet pick up and race registration is the Saturday before each event at the Fort Collins Club from 10:00am to 3:00pm. You will receive a number, timing chip, t-shirt and other cool stuff. Race morning packet pick up will be from 5:30am to 6:45am. PLEASE BE EARLY.

First Timers Meeting and Pre-Race Meeting

The first timers meeting will take place the Saturday before each event at 1:30pm at the Fort Collins Club. This informational meeting will assist you in the art of the triathlon/duathlon and put your mind at ease with this presentation! Please bring all questions about how to get through your first event!

The SWIM

The swim takes place in the EPIC pool. The snake swim allows the athlete to swim a length, duck under the lane line, and swim the length back. This process is repeated until 18 lengths are completed totaling 450 yards. The fastest swimmer starts first with the next swimmer following every 10 seconds. WALKING IS ALLOWED.

The BIKE

The fast THREE loop course follows the Riverside Ave. leaving EPIC to Prospect Rd, turn right (east) to Timberline Rd., turn right (south) to Drake Rd. turn right (west) to Lemay Ave. turn right (north) to Prospect Rd. turn right (east) back towards Riverside Ave. Be sure to complete THREE loops of the bike course for a total of 13 miles. Please stay to the right of traffic and control cones and follow the directions of the course marshals. BE SAFE. CAUTION: RAILROAD TRACKS.

The RUN

The run will be clearly marked with cones and arrows on the roadway. It leaves the transition area and follows the dirt path along the power line trail. It then heads west along Drake Road on the sidewalk until you turn into Parkwood east neighborhood and meanders through the area until the finish back at EPIC. There will be maps available at packet pick up the day before the race.

THE DUATHLON

The Du first run starts at the Stuart Street cul de sac and follows a circle loop in the Parkwood East neighborhood. A cyclist will lead and one will follow this group of runners. Then proceed to the transition area to your bike and follow the bike and run courses of the triathletes. BE SAFE.

Post Race Party and Awards

The post race party and awards will be held at the Fort Collins Club. The following are eligible for awards; top three men and women in each age group, starting at 12-14 (5 year increments), top three relay teams, top three athena and Clydesdale. The post race party includes a pancake breakfast and drink of your choice!

Kids Triathlon

The Clubs' annual Kids' Triathlon will be held Sunday, Aug. 25 with the first wave starting at 8:00am. This is an untimed event for anyone 4-12 years old who can be reasonably expected to safely negotiate the distances. The emphasis is on fun, participation and giving your best effort– not on competing. Cost: $30 for the first child per family and $25 for each additional child. Scholarships are available! Just show your FCC membership card. Early registration ends August 1. Late registration closes August 23. For more information, contact Stacey@ftcclub.net or 970-224-2582. This event is for everyone! Bring the whole family and enjoy a festive run
before you enjoy a feast! Thanksgiving Day 2013- Thursday, November 28

Online Registration

Please note the ONLY method to register until the day before the race is ONLINE. To register in person you may go to the Fort Collins Club from noon to 7 pm on Wednesday November 27, 2013 the day before the race or at race day packet pick up.

To pre-register ONLINE, computers available, go to the Fort Collins Club 1307 East Prospect Rd, Altitude Running 150 East Harmony Road – Unit 2C, or Runner’s Roost 2720 Council Tree Ave. through November 26th, 2013. After that go to the Fort Collins Club noon to 7 pm Wednesday November 27th, 2013 or register race morning at packet pick.

Fees. Pre-register before November 28, 2013: Youth 17 and under $20, Adult $32 Race Day: Youth $30, Adult $45 ALL FULL PAYING PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE A LONG SLEEVE TECH T-SHIRT.

Packet Pickup. Pre-registered runners may pick up packets at the Fort Collins Club on Wednesday, November 27 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., or at the Mainline Restaurant on the morning of the race, 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

“Kids Run 4 Miler Free” One child, 10 years of age or younger, may run the 4 miler free when registering with a paying adult. This is our way of making The Fort Collins Thanksgiving Day Run an affordable event for everyone! The free participant will be non-timed, get a number and get a race souvenir.  Sign up and join the fun!!!

FREE KIDS DO NOT RECEIVE A T-SHIRT.

The Benefit. This year the Fort Collins Thanksgiving Day Run will again be raising money for the Food Bank for Larimer County. The vision of the Food Bank for Larimer County is a hunger-free Larimer County, and their mission is to provide food to all in need through community partnerships and hunger-relief programs. The Food Bank for Larimer County provides approximately 7.8 million pounds of donated food and other products to the community each year through three programs:  Food Share, Kids Cafe and Food Link. FOOD DRIVE AT THE FORT COLLINS CLUB STARTING NOVEMBER 1ST THROUGH RACE DAY!

General Information. Race day registration is to be announced for packet pick up and awards ceremony. The Fort Collins Thanksgiving Day Run is for runners, walkers and kids! Bring your family, friends and out of town guests and experience the community spirit of Fort Collins! The four-mile run/walk and kids’ fun run are staged in downtown Fort Collins, with the kids’ race starting off the festivities at approximately 8:45 a.m., followed immediately by the main event at approximately 9:00 a.m. Race start times may be delayed due to train schedule. The starting line is on College Avenue, just north of the College/Mountain Avenue intersection. Participants head south on College, turn west on Mulberry Street, north on South Bryan (through City Park), east on historic Mountain Avenue, and finish back on College Avenue at Oak Street Plaza.  In keeping with the spirit of Thanksgiving, pies will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups:11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over. Prize money will be awarded to the top five male and female overall and top three masters (40 plus) winners of the four mile event! Prize money sponsored by Campus West Liquor Depot & Pedersen is as follows: Open 1st place — $600, 2nd place — $400, 3rd place — $300, 4th place — $150, 5th place — $50  Masters’  (age 40 and over)1st place — $150, 2nd place — $100, 3rd place — $50

The Gobble Gobble Kids’ Run. We invite your little pilgrims to race down College Avenue in our kids’ fun run sponsored by the Silver Grill. There is no entry fee and all participants receive a finisher’s ribbon and prize. The Gobble Gobble starts at approximately 8:45 a.m., prior to the main event. Please have your Gobble Gobble participants meet by the Silver Grill banner hanging in Oak Street Plaza at 8:45 a.m. The distance of the Gobble Gobble is approximately 1/3 mile, or four city blocks.
