


Welcome to the Fort Collins Triathlon/Duathlon! This great first timers and seasoned athletes event takes place on a safe, flat and fast course. Semi-annual events makes for a great measure of fitness change over the course of the summer. Transition Area
The transition area opens at 6:00am.
Packet Pick up
Packet pick up and race registration is the Saturday before each event at the Fort Collins Club from 10:00am to 3:00pm. You will receive a number, timing chip, t-shirt and other cool stuff. Race morning packet pick up will be from 5:30am to 6:45am. PLEASE BE EARLY.
First Timers Meeting and Pre-Race Meeting
The first timers meeting will take place the Saturday before each event at 1:30pm at the Fort Collins Club. This informational meeting will assist you in the art of the triathlon/duathlon and put your mind at ease with this presentation! Please bring all questions about how to get through your first event!
The SWIM
The swim takes place in the EPIC pool. The snake swim allows the athlete to swim a length, duck under the lane line, and swim the length back. This process is repeated until 18 lengths are completed totaling 450 yards. The fastest swimmer starts first with the next swimmer following every 10 seconds. WALKING IS ALLOWED.
The BIKE
The fast THREE loop course follows the Riverside Ave. leaving EPIC to Prospect Rd, turn right (east) to Timberline Rd., turn right (south) to Drake Rd. turn right (west) to Lemay Ave. turn right (north) to Prospect Rd. turn right (east) back towards Riverside Ave. Be sure to complete THREE loops of the bike course for a total of 13 miles. Please stay to the right of traffic and control cones and follow the directions of the course marshals. BE SAFE. CAUTION: RAILROAD TRACKS.
The RUN
The run will be clearly marked with cones and arrows on the roadway. It leaves the transition area and follows the dirt path along the power line trail. It then heads west along Drake Road on the sidewalk until you turn into Parkwood east neighborhood and meanders through the area until the finish back at EPIC. There will be maps available at packet pick up the day before the race.
THE DUATHLON
The Du first run starts at the Stuart Street cul de sac and follows a circle loop in the Parkwood East neighborhood. A cyclist will lead and one will follow this group of runners. Then proceed to the transition area to your bike and follow the bike and run courses of the triathletes. BE SAFE.
Post Race Party and Awards
The post race party and awards will be held at the Fort Collins Club. The following are eligible for awards; top three men and women in each age group, starting at 12-14 (5 year increments), top three relay teams, top three athena and Clydesdale. The post race party includes a pancake breakfast and drink of your choice!

The Clubs' annual Kids' Triathlon will be held Sunday, Aug. 25 with the first wave starting at 8:00am. This is an untimed event for anyone 4-12 years old who can be reasonably expected to safely negotiate the distances. The emphasis is on fun, participation and giving your best effort– not on competing. Cost: $30 for the first child per family and $25 for each additional child. Scholarships are available! This year the Fort Collins Thanksgiving Day Run will be raising money for
the Food Bank for Larimer County. The vision of the Food Bank for Larimer
County is a hunger-free Larimer County, and our mission is to provide food to
